Solo Web Beta Terms and conditions
Part B · Terms: 1–4 the beta · 5–7 using Solo · 8–14 the rest
Part A · About Solo web
What Solo web is
- Solo watches only you, through your own camera and microphone, and tells you how you're coming across while you talk.
- It runs in this browser. Your video and audio never leave it.
- It works next to Zoom, Teams or Google Meet. A small strip floats over your call.
Your free session
- One free session per person, of up to 20 minutes. We confirm your email with a 6-digit code so each person gets one.
- A session counts as your free session once it passes 1 minute. If it ends sooner, your free session is still there.
- Every session stops at 20 minutes. Solo tells you at 5 minutes and at 1 minute left, then opens your review.
- A session can't be paused or started again.
- Beta testers have unlimited sessions. They also have a testing switch that lifts the 20-minute limit for stability tests.
What stays on your computer
- Solo opens your camera and microphone only during a session.
- Everything it works out about how you come across is computed here, in this tab.
- The recording for your review is kept in this tab's memory. It is gone when you leave the review. Your marks go with it.
What leaves your browser
- Your email check.
- Your address is sent once, so we can email you the code. The email is sent by Resend, a US email service. Resend keeps a copy of each email it sends, including your address, for 30 days in the United States, and then deletes it. If you ask us to delete your record within those 30 days, we ask Resend to delete its copy too (section 12).
- We keep a one-way fingerprint of the address, whether its free session has been used, and which version of these terms you agreed to and when. We don't keep the address itself.
- We keep the fingerprint until 30 days after the web beta ends. You can have it deleted sooner (section 12).
- We never email you anything except the code.
- Anonymous usage counts.
- What is sent: that Solo opened, and that a session started or ended, with its length in bands (0–5, 5–15, 15–20 minutes) and whether it reached the limit. Also camera on or off, your browser and system type, and three yes/no flags: first time today, this month, ever.
- Never sent: a name, an email, an identifier, or anything Solo heard or saw.
- Counts are on by default. Switch them off at any time in Solo's Settings. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, they stay off.
Where it works
- Google Chrome on a Windows or Mac computer.
- During the beta, Solo web is not available in the European Union, the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or in Illinois, Texas or Washington.
Part B · Terms
1. Who we are
Solo web is provided by Oded Biran, United States ("we", "us"). UnderCurrent is not yet incorporated; these terms will name the company once it is. Contact: privacy@undercur.com.
2. Who can use it
You must be over 18 "over 18" or "18 or older"?. You may use Solo web only where it is offered (A5). Don't use a VPN or similar tool to reach it from a place where it isn't offered keep?.
3. A beta
Solo web is an early version. It may change, stop working or end at any time, without notice. Features may be added or removed.
4. Your free session and the limits
The limits are one free session per person and 20 minutes per session. A session becomes your free session once it passes 1 minute. Don't use more than one email address to get more sessions, and don't change or automate the app to get around a limit. Tester codes are personal: don't share them. We can withdraw a code at any time.
5. Coaching, not advice
Solo describes observable behaviour (your airtime, pace, pitch, gaze, expressiveness and questions) and how it may come across. It is not medical, psychological, legal or professional advice. It does not assess anyone else. What you do with it is your decision.
6. Other people on your calls
Solo uses only your camera and microphone. If your speakers play the call aloud, your microphone may pick up other people's voices. That sound stays in this tab's memory with your recording and is discarded when you leave the review. Use headphones to avoid it. You are responsible for following the laws and policies that apply to your calls, including any about recording Oded: wording vs. state consent laws.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Solo web. That means: no attacking or overloading the service, no automated access to the sign-in or counting addresses, no reverse-engineering to get around the limits, and nothing unlawful.
8. Privacy
Our privacy notice explains what we process and why. Part A above summarises it for Solo web. The notice's web section is drafted in plan phase P6
9. Ownership
The software belongs to us. We give you a personal, revocable permission to use Solo web during the beta. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Solo.
10. No warranty
Solo web is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind Oded: full disclaimer text.
11. Limitation of liability
Oded: limitation-of-liability clause
12. Ending
You can stop using Solo web at any time. We may suspend or end your access, including if these terms are broken. To have your email fingerprint deleted, write to privacy@undercur.com from that address and we will delete it. That deletes everything we hold about that address: the fingerprint, whether its free session was used, and the terms you agreed to. Resend, which sent your code, keeps its copy of that email for 30 days and then deletes it. If you write to us within those 30 days, we also ask Resend to delete its copy.
13. Changes to these terms
You agree to these terms by ticking the two boxes on the email screen. If we change them, you'll be signed out and asked to tick the boxes again for the new version before your next session.
14. Governing law and disputes
